Position Title

IT helpdesk Assistant (IT Coordinator) (Position # 115643)

Category

Exempt Staff, 12 months, full time, 40 hours per week

Responsibilities

This help desk is responsible for providing information technology support for the instructional and research spaces in throughout the School of Engineering that include computer labs and technology classrooms as well as research labs.  This position will also provide the helpdesk/front line support contact for the faculty, staff, and students in the Bioengineering, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, as well as for all staff/faculty/student that reside in the Kim Engineering Building.  This position will have secondary support responsibility for the IT needs in the meeting and conference spaces in that Building and for the systems and applications support of several information systems in support of Engineering Buildings and the help desk.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree BS/BA degree or equivalent education, experience and training that indicate the ability to perform the duties outlined in the job description.

Minimum three years with PC Hardware the types of hardware and software to be supported, two years of which included user support, user training, system administration and/or programming.  Experience with AV and digital signage systems preferred.
                                               
Proven track record of excellent customer service skills required.  Thorough knowledge of PC computing hardware and software; skilled in operating supported computers and peripherals; skilled in configuring computer hardware and software; be able to analytically design program logic or solve technical problems. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to work effectively with clients and in teams; to provide guidance and instruction to others. Knowledge of Mac hardware will be a plus.

Salary

Commensurate with experience.
