Position Title

Helpdesk Manager (IT Coordinator) (Position # 111228)

Category

Exempt Staff, 12 months, full time, 40 hours per week

Responsibilities

The Helpdesk Manager will provide a high degree of technical support for the people, computer laboratories and instructional facilities throughout the School of Engineering. This position will provide Level 1 support for the occupants of the Kim Engineering Building and Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for the Dean’s office and several departments throughout the School. The helpdesk manager will also be responsible for providing Level 1 support to the technology-enhanced classrooms and the computer labs throughout the School. This individual will also provide applications administration on several support systems used assist in the running of the helpdesk and the Kim Engineering Building. This individual will be required to triage helpdesk calls, mentor the student assistants, and supervise an IT Support Associate.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree required.

Three years with PC Hardware the types of hardware and software to be supported, two years of which included user support, user training, and/or programming. Experience with trouble ticketing systems preferred.

Proven track record of excellent customer service skills required. Thorough knowledge of PC/Mac computing hardware and software. Skill in operating supported computers and peripherals; in configuring computer hardware and software; to analytically solve technical problems. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to both technical and non-technical audiences; to work effectively with clients and in teams; to provide guidance and instruction to others.

Salary

Commensurate with experience.
