Wireless Network FAQs

To accommodate University of Maryland faculty and staff wishing to sponsor campus visitors for temporary access to the wireless network, the Division of IT has developed the Wireless Access for Guests program. University of Maryland faculty and staff may sponsor up to four Guest Wireless Accounts for a maximum of 30 days each.

By logging in to the Guest Wireless Access Tool with a valid Directory ID, guest authentication IDs can be created, which can then be used by sponsored guests to access the UMD wireless network for the requested duration.

If additional accounts (or accounts lasting longer than 30 days) are needed, departmental LAN administrators can submit a request.
