Cybersecurity is one of the most important risks an organization faces. Every university device is a link in the chain, and our security is only as strong as the weakest link.


On Monday, March 16, 2026 between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m., DIT will conduct a set of disaster recovery network resiliency tests that could cause intermittent service interruptions.

DIT offices will be closed March 16-17 for Spring Break. Some services will have additional service modifications.

All faculty and staff, including research assistants and graduate assistants, are required to complete UMD's Defend Your Shell 2026 training by April 3, 2026.
