All faculty and staff, including research assistants and graduate assistants, are required to complete UMD's Defend Your Shell 2026 training by April 3, 2026.

UMD's newly refined Software Risk Management (SRM) process ensures that software tools used across the university are secure, compliant, and efficient, protecting both university data and resources.

Effective January 26, 2026, the default retention time for UMD-supported chat tools will be reduced to 24 hours in most cases.

To support the digital accessibility of course materials, many resources are available, and more will be developed.
